Jameson & Rachel +1 December 8, 2018 Highlands Ranch, Colorado
It’s SO fun to get to see families start and grow. Jameson and my husband have been friends for close to a decade now, so we’ve had the privilege of getting to see Jameson and Rachel go from dating, to married, to starting their own little family of three. Wandering around the grounds of a historic mansion with friends and capturing this huge milestone is definitely my idea of a good Saturday morning. I’m so excited to meet this little guy in February!

The last time I did photos for this family, they were making a pretty big announcement. Now fast forward eight months and I was asked to take family photos of them with their sweet new baby boy. It’s so fun to get to see families grow through this job and getting to spend a morning chatting about babies, watching my son play with Zoey between shots and admiring a sweet six-week old was my kind of Friday. Especially at 36 weeks pregnant myself!

Can we talk about how completely photogenic this family is for a second? In all the shots that I took, there wasn’t an unflattering one in the bunch. Which is really impressive with a two-year-old in tow. We met Mike, Jenn and Zoey through some of our best friends, and have gotten to know them while celebrating birthdays, watching football, and exchanging cookies at Christmas. It was so fun to get to do this session, both because we got to chat while we walked around the park, but also because I got to take part in a special announcement!
Because my husband is the oldest sibling in his family, I’ve been able to watch his siblings grow up over the course of our relationship. Matt celebrated his 15th birthday the first time I came to Colorado, and since then I’ve watched him graduate high school and college, work incredibly hard to get a great job, and now, find the love of his life. It’s been SO fun. One thing I have learned about Matt over the course of this time, and especially when he lived with us for a while after graduating college, is that he’s a total romantic. I knew that when Matt found the right girl, he’d fall hard, he’d fall fast and she would be showered with love and grand gestures. The first time he brought Victoria “home” to meet us was the day he hatched an elaborate plan to officially ask her to be his girlfriend. She was smiling from ear-to-ear and I’m not sure she’s stopped since. The next year would take them on romantic trips celebrating obscure Canadian holidays that share Victoria’s name, meeting and charming each other’s families, and just falling deeper and deeper in love. Victoria is an absolutely lovely person, and easily won over this sister-in-law during our lunch dates and through her absolute adoration of my brother-in-law and my son (pro tip: to make moms love you, love their kiddos well – Victoria did this from day one). I can’t wait for Victoria and Matt’s April wedding and the completion of the Rabon brother’s wives trifecta.

I’ve been so lucky to get to do family photos for this beautiful family three times now (one & two)! This time, I got to photograph the newest addition to the family. There’s nothing sweeter than a newborn, and getting to meet and photograph this sweet little boy was such a joy! The extended Hayes family only has boys so far, and this new set of Hayes brothers sure are cute. Thank you for inviting me into your home to get to capture this new season of your lives!

This beautiful family has been with Amanda Rabon Photography from the beginning. I’ve photographed them four times now: when Lily was 6 months, 9 months,1 year old and now at 3 years old. I couldn’t be more honored to have been able to document Lily growing up and now, to document the family growing! As you’ll see in the pictures below, Lily is making a big announcement!
Cherish + Kandace

Colorado Springs, Colorado
There are about six degrees of separation that brought these two lovely ladies to me. Kandace went to college in TN with a girl named Sarah. I took photos of Sarah two-and-a-half years ago. I met Sarah through my friend Jehnie, whom I used to work with at a store in CA when I was a teenager and later reconnected with in CO. These two came here to Colorado, and specifically to Garden of the Gods, to get married. They made the trip all the way from Alabama to elope in an intimate ceremony with their son. The day was beautiful for their ceremony and the park made for a perfect setting for the beginning of their lives together. I thought it was so fun the way their dresses complemented each other so nicely, even though neither had seen the other’s dress until that day! It must be indicative of how well the women who wore them complement each other, too. Wherever we walked, Cherish & Kandace were greeted by the hundreds (probably thousands?) of people in the park that day with well wishes. Congratulations Mrs. & Mrs. Jackson – I wish you all the happiness in the world!
One of my very favorite things that I’ve gotten through marriage is more siblings. Growing up, my brother was my absolute best friend. And now, I’m blessed to have two more brothers, three more sisters and one more soon-to-be-sister.
I especially love having a sister that I can text and say something along the lines of “I’m obsessed with a wall in the mountains and I want to take photos there. Are you in?” And we jump in the car, take photos between which we laugh hysterically, and eat mountain pies at Beau Jo’s.
The Strait Family
December 26, 2016
What a joy it was to end my 2016 with this photoshoot! My sweet friend Becca contacted me, saying that they wanted to get family photos done for her mom’s Christmas gift. I had the honor to get to take these photos, which show three generations of love, faith and joy. I simply loved the way the family interacted with each other, and how comfortable the girls were being held by any one. I think those two know just how much they are loved by all members of their family.

I was put into contact with this lovely family through some mutual friends of ours who know them from being stationed together with the Air Force. Tara, her husband, and kiddos were in town for Christmas and her mom wanted family pictures as her gift. This family was not only super photogenic, but as sweet as can be as well. The Colorado weather kept changing every few minutes from overcast to sun, but despite the chilly air, they kept on smiling and having a good time. There was even a dance party to Justin Timberlake at the end!
