I was put in contact with Sarah by my friend Jehnie, who used to work with Sarah. The opportunity to photograph Sarah, her wife Ellen, and their son Corey was a lot of fun; Corey is quite the character! But underlying the fun was a touch of sadness, as their beloved husky, Kiah, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. I feel honored to have taken some of their last family photos as a family of five before Kiah was put down to relieve her suffering.

Jameson and Rachel are good friends of ours that we’ve spent a lot of time with since we moved to Colorado. Jameson and my husband play fantasy football together, softball and can often be found watching football together on Sundays with our group of friends. It was fun to get to do a mini session with them last weekend – which was inevitably followed by the boys watching football while we ladies went out for the evening. So great to spend our day with such fun friends!

Over the last four years that we’ve lived in Colorado, Stephen and I have been able to meet some pretty great people. Two of those people are Scott and Erin. Scott has played softball with my husband for a few years now, meaning at least once a week during the summer months I’ve gotten to spend time getting to know Erin. They’re wonderful friends and Erin is a fellow small business owner. Her line of Lush frozen wine mixes are delicious- check them out!

Pike National Forest, near Sedalia, Colorado

Brandon and my husband have been best friends for roughly ten years. Since then the boys have added myself and Meghan to the mix and many good times have been had by all. Taking photos in the forest was B & M’s idea, and I couldn’t have loved the scenery, the lighting or the people any more!
